My most pleasurable memories of Autumn are from a time back when my 3 kids were in high school. They are all adults now so it's been quite some time. But they were such fond memories I'll not likely ever forget.
We live out in the suburbs which is more or less country-like atmosphere. Our kids were invited to a gathering at a friends house. There were just as many adults as kids there. We were a close group since our kids had all attended a small private school from K-12th grades. I was a teacher at that school along with the friend who was hosting the gathering.
We all piled on the wagon, which was pulled by a tractor. It was time for a hayride! We could see by the light of the moon, which added to the spooky feel of the night. The kids were singing, telling ghost stories and squealing to others jumping out at them in the dark. After the hayride we gathered around the bonfire to warm up and to toast marshmellows. It was a fun time for all!
I still look back at those days with such fond memories. They were the best times of my life.
